Kalari supoports Moura High School Australian Business Week

Date: 15-Jul-2013

Recently, Moura High School’s year 11 students participated in Australian Business Week, an initiative which allows students to test their teamwork, business acumen, creative skills and leadership abilities. Over the period of a week, the students worked as a team by setting up and running a virtual café franchise.
They also formed companies to create and market the product, with the week culminating in a simulated trade display day showcasing their products. The initiative proved a tough and high pressure challenge for the students and was a real eye opener for what lies ahead of them. Local businesses assisted the school by providing support in terms of financial donations, prizes or donating precious time to mentor and judge.
Moranbah-based Driver Trainer and Safety Coordinator Peter Hardy volunteered to help out. He provided the students with a presentation on creating a video commercial, after which he acted as mentor. Moura High School Principal Garry Goltz was liberal in his praise of his students and their commitment to a very challenging task. He also thanked Kalari and other businesses operating in and round Moura for their continued commitment to the Moura community.
