Thursday 9 September was R U OK Day around Australia. 2021 has been challenging for everyone – making it even more important for us all to stay connected and support those around us.

R U OK? is an Australian non-profit suicide prevention organisation founded in 2009 to start life-changing conversations. This year Kalari participated in the national conversation for the whole week and showed our support with morning teas around the country and raising awareness for this important mental health initiative.

We focused on asking ‘Are you Ok? Are you really OK?’ and provided Toolbox Talks and R U OK videos at our depots to help encourage everyone to connect with workmates, family and friends to start a conversation that could be life saving for someone struggling, feeling lonely or isolated.

Asking R U OK? is not just about checking in one day of the year – it’s about noticing the signs any time of the year that someone might need support and asking them if they do.

We have certified Mental Health First Aiders in each of our depots so there are people trained in starting conversations about mental health.

If you or someone you know need to talk to someone the R U OK Day website lists resources to find help; or you can call:
