Supporting our communities
At Kalari, we believe in engaging with the local communities in which we operate and aim to employ local people wherever possible.
Our Kalari in the Community program is driven by our people and focuses on supporting local initiatives that benefit communities as a whole. Recently, we contributed to the construction of a safe swimming area at Ceduna in South Australia, provided outdoor paving for the Banana State School in Queensland and supported the Hinterland Community Care Kids Club, a holiday program for disabled children in Queensland.
In addition to our own programs, our people are offered additional support through parent company John Swire & Sons. The Swire Employee Community Support Program was established to support employees who help strengthen local communities by contributing their time, expertise or money to local community organisations.
